The state institution "Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology" performs liver transplantation from a living relative and a cadaveric donor to non-residents of the Republic of Belarus from the countries of near and far abroad, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Japan, Israel.
Relatives of patients (who share a common great-grandmother or great-grandfather ancestor) and spouses can be donors.
Our center has a special program for children. Every year, liver transplantation is performed to 5-10 child patients with complex pathologies, including children with birth defects.
Our advantage is a high 5-year survival rate of patients - 75%, 70% of patients live more than 10 years.
The procedure for providing paid medical services for liver transplantation from deceased donors consists of 2 stages:
- Stage I: the examination required to put the recipient on the waiting list for a donor organ with a stay in our clinic for up to 14 days
- Stage II: liver transplantation, which includes hospitalization for transplantation, surgery, early postoperative period of the recipient, diagnostics, consultations of specialist doctors, medicines, consumables, stay in the intensive care unit and transplantation, meals.
For children, the cost of liver transplantation may be higher due to the pre-hospital and postoperative stay in the City Children's Infectious Clinical Hospital in Minsk. This step is crucial for long-term positive transplant outcomes in young children.
The average waiting time for a compatible organ is 12 months. Depending on the severity state of the patient and the compatibility of the donor and recipient, waiting time may be reduced.
