The Department of Nephrology and Hemodialysis is part of the Republican Center for Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy and Kidney Transplantation.
Main areas of work:
Traditional nephrology: treatment of glomerulonephritis, tubulo-interstitial nephritis, pyelonephritis, polycystic kidney disease. Correction of nephrogenic arterial hypertension. Treatment of kidney damage in diabetes mellitus, systemic diseases. Diagnosis of vasorenal hypertension
In the diagnosis of kidney diseases we use modern laboratory, isotope, X-ray urological methods, ultrasound, CT, MRI, angiography, puncture nephrobiopsy with immunohistochemistry of biopsy specimens.
Hemodialysis
Chronic renal failure is treated by hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration.
The department is equipped with modern new dialysis equipment, including 7 Fresenius 5008 online hemodiafiltration devices, half of the extrarenal blood purification sessions are performed using the most modern high-flow membranes.
Peritoneal dialysis
It is possible to use both manual and hardware methods of peritoneal dialysis on the Fresenius Sleep Safe Harmony apparatus. According to the indications, patients can be treated by outpatient peritoneal dialysis.
Transplant Nephrology
The department works closely with the transplantation department. The Department of Nephrology and Hemodialysis eximines, patients for the "waiting list" for a kidney transplantation, the complications of CKD that prevent the operation are corrected. After transplantation, diagnostics and treatment of rejections, immunosuppressant toxicity, viral and bacterial infections are carried out.
Performed surgical interventions
- Formation, reconstruction and elimination of arteriovenous fistulas, implantation of prostheses for vascular access, for a hemodialysis session.
- Preparation of donor vessels for transplantation. Imposition of an arterio-venous fistula with a vascular allograft.
- Laparoscopic insertion and removal of Tenckhoff catheters for peritoneal dialysis.
- Puncture nephrobiopsy of native and transplanted kidneys under ultrasound control.
- Catheterization of the central veins under ultrasound control, Implantation and removal of permanent (cuffed) catheters for a hemodialysis session.
- Puncture aspiration of a kidney cyst under ultrasound control.
- Diagnostic puncture of fluid accumulations under ultrasound control.
- Ethanol ablation of kidney cysts under ultrasound control.
- Drainage of ascites under ultrasound control.
- Surgery to remove polycystic kidneys in order to prepare for a kidney transplant.
Other techniques
Gravitational high-volume plasmapheresis on the machine "Fresenius Com.Tec".
Immunosorption (Adasorba (Fresenius) - used in preparing for intergroup kidney transplantation, treatment of kidney transplant rejection, treatment of systemic diseases with kidney damage.
